The AC Milan women's first team were back at work today, Wednesday 20 July, as they met up at the PUMA House of Football - Centro P. Vismara to prepare for the 2022/23 season ahead, with the first game of the league campaign planned for the 27/28 August. It it to be a historical season after the move to professionalism on 1 July. It is a vital step that will develop and bring about important changes to women's football in Italy, which has seen AC Milan as a leading figure over the years.

On their return, the squad found a renovated Training Centre that has been modernised and rebranded, and is a strong message from the Club, and its sponsors Puma, about the importance of the women's setup.

The girls have already gone through various physical testing exercises in the first two days of this week, and now get straight down to work with morning sessions scheduled for today and tomorrow, Thursday 21 July. In this first part of pre-season training, the players who were representing their respective countries at the 2022 European Championships in England will not be present. The whole group will be reunited together before their departure for Louisville (Kentucky), United States, where they will participate in the Women's Cup from 12 to 22 August.

The Rossonere have also met back up with Maurizio Ganz, their coach for the past four seasons at AC Milan, who has extended his stay with the Club until 30 June 2024. Elisabet Spina has also renewed her contract as the club's Head of Women's Football, giving continuity to the development of the women's setup.

Training will also go to the popular tourist resort Livigno, in the province of Sondrio, from 22 to 29 July. The prestigious mountain setting stands at nearly 2000 metres above sea level and will see the squad stay in two high quality structures, guaranteeing the Rossonere the chance to train in a top quality sports centre at much lower temperatures compared to the city.

Training will be open to the public every day from 23 July and will take place at Aquagrande Training Centre in the Valtellina town. Instead, Tuesday 26 July will see a rest day for the girls therefore no training is planned.

The programme:

  • 23/07: double training session: 10.30 and 17.00 CET
  • 24/07: afternoon session, 17.00 CET
  • 25/07: double training session: 10.30 and 17.00 CET
  • 26/07: rest day
  • 27/07: morning session, 10.00 CET
  • 28/07: double training session: 10.30 and 17.00 CET
  • 29/07: morning session, 10.00 CET

During the training camp, an event to meet and greet the players and staff for the residents of Livigno, tourists, and supporters of AC Milan is to be scheduled and will be communicated in due course.
