AC Milan attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, who is a loanee from Real Madrid, has granted an interview to the microphones of AS.

Here are his words:

"On the two seasons already spent at Milan? It was very nice. We knew we had a very talented squad and that we could make history. In the end, we made it."

No one considered Milan favourites for the Scudetto:

"We are a young group, it was normal for many to think so. Undoubtedly, a unique chemistry has been created between the players, the club and the fans. In the end we all began to believe in it and in the end the result surprised us."

What Milan can we expect this season?

"A team more aware of its strength, which dreams of the twentieth Scudetto and which will fight match after match to win it. I feel very good here, both personally and professionally. I want to give my all for this club and keep growing. I enjoyed having responsibility and pressure, I feel I have grown up. I'm a perfectionist and I know I can improve a lot."

Brahim Diaz on the need to go further in the Champions League:

"Yes, we can do more. We have a squad that mixes youth and experience, and a club that, like few others, knows what the Champions League is. We have won an important title, we have grown and we will be in the first pot. We have to believe in it."

You started last season well, but you struggled after Covid-19...

"At the start of the season I felt good, mentally and physically. I have shown that I am the footballer I want to be. Then it is clear that Covid has left me out for more than a month. It caused me some physical problems... Over time, I felt good again and I'm happy with the part I had."

Your favourite win in the season?

"The one which gave us the Scudetto of course. However, what made the difference was the comeback in the return derby with Inter. I entered when we were 1-0 behind and I remember with pride that I helped the team to overturn the result."

Brahim Diaz on his relationship with coach Stefano Pioli:

"He has always given me confidence. He knows what I can give him and he has helped me grow as a footballer. He is an excellent coach and a very good person: I am grateful to him."

On the Scudetto party:

"The bus ride. It is an incredible moment to experience such a thing. At that moment you realise what Milan represents for its people. People were crazy about us and I will always remember that. We have brought Milan back to its place."

What does it mean to be the third player in history, the youngest and the first Spaniard to win La Liga, Premier League and Serie A?

"I couldn't even imagine being able to brag about this in my career. I have to thank the teammates and the coaches I have had. I tried to do my part and I hope more records will come."

On his teammate Theo Hernandez:

"He is an exceptional player. He has physique, quality, tactical intelligence. I have always known that he could go very far and he is already one of the best there is in his position as him."

Ibrahimovic, on the other hand, had a difficult season...

"Ibra, for us, is fundamental on and off the pitch. He continues to give us advice and it is impossible not to improve by looking at what he does day by day. In the locker room, we knew about the sacrifices he made for his knee. There are things you can only understand if you live them."

Brahim Diaz on the desire to be in the Spanish national team:

"I will work every day for Milan to be considered. There is no greater pride."

Ancelotti was rejoiced for Milan's success, did you do the same for Real Madrid?

"Ancelotti has always been a Rossoneri, he must have been very happy with these successes. I have many companions and friends there, it was very nice to see them triumph."
