AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega spent two positive seasons in Serie A on loan with Spezia first and then with Torino. It seems that the intention for the new campaign is to keep him at Milanello and rely on him to see if he can add the much needed quality and depth that head coach Stefano Pioli is looking for in midfield.
According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport in today's print edition, Tommaso Pobega and Milan have reached an agreement for the renewal of the contract which is currently expiring in three years. Not only that, it is likely that an announcement will already be there by the end of July: only signature and communication are missing. Pobega will extend to 2027, with a major adjustment to his salary.
The agreement confirms the importance that Milan gives to the number 32 for the present and also for the future. Pobega at this moment replaces Kessie and will have many minutes to play in the new season. He just needs to recover a little from a muscle strain in his thigh: these days he is working alone and should be back on the pitch for Vicenza-Milan on 6 August. Just a week later and it will be the start of Serie A against Udinese at San Siro on Saturday 13th.
