AC Milan were linked heavily with a move for 29-year-old right-winger Hakim Ziyech earlier this summer. But, a deal did not come through as the Rossoneri directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, have favoured negotiating with Club Brugge for the card of young talent Charles De Ketelaere, according to multiple reports.
The profile of the former Ajax player, however, is understood to be attracting interest of the Rossoneri management and some past reports do not exclude that a move for him is possible in the finaly few days of the mercato.
Taking stock of the player's situation, The Athletic confirm that Ziyech remains on the departure list of Premier League side Chelsea. The Blues intend to thin out the squad and offload the players who are not in the plans of German head coach Thomas Tuchel:
"Chelsea intend to trim the squad radically over the next three weeks. For example, Marcos Alonso should depart soon for Barcelona, while Timo Werner, Malang Sarr and Hakim Ziyech are expected to go too. Leipzig are set to re-sign Werner on a permanent deal."
