AC Milan team captain Davide Calabria has spoken to Milan TV at the end of Milan-Udinese which ended in a 4-2 victory for the reigning Serie A champions:
"It was important to have a good start this season, I wore the captain's armband several times last season. Honestly, it is an honour as always, it gives you that extra energy and that extra boost. It's always nice to lead. Then it is obvious what was important was to win. It was a beautiful and exciting match."
On the Serie A race:
"It is a very difficult championship to play from a tactical point of view. All the teams are really prepared, at the slightest problem these matches get really complicated. We are happy, it was what they wanted, we worked a lot to arrive in the best conditions in this game."
On what Milan strength is:
"The mentality of this team has now consolidated, we must not let ourselves be distracted by the chances", said Calabria. "We cannot concede goals in the first minutes and in the last minutes on occasions where we were well placed on the pitch. An extra thread of attention and we could have avoided both goals. We must not be discouraged by these things, we are a strong team that can score five goals in five minutes."
On the penalty obtained and the assist:
"It's always nice when you make assists, goals or get penalties. It's important because you help the team. The important thing is that the team wins and that you play well. I'm happy but we still have a lot of work to do because we have the potential to do very well this year."
