AC Milan could not snatch the three points against Sassuolo and had to settle for a goalless draw instead. La Gazzetta dello Sport commented on the performance of the Rossoneri team by sharing these ratings for the players:
The man of the match was Mike Maignan who saved a penalty shot by Domenico Berardi. The French goalkeeper gave a point to his team, therefore, and kept a clean sheet. He was shown a 7 for his efforts.
Simon Kjaer who played his first official game in the season after a long and serious injury showed good signs throughout the 90 minutes and was granted a 6.5 rating. With him, Theo Hernandez was also given a 6.5.
Fikayo Tomori, Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali and Junior Messias were shown a rating of 6. Same rating to Yacine Adli as well who entered in the second half and tried to give a 'shock'.
AC Milan's full-back (who had to leave the pitch towards the end of the game due to injury) Alessandro Florenzi was given 5.5 for his efforts. Same goes to Tommaso Pobega, Alexis Saelemaekers and Charles De Ketelaere.
Brahim Diaz was rated at 5 with Rafael Leao. The Portuguese left-winger was voted as the worst player on the pitch for the Rossoneri team of coach Stefano Pioli.
