Ex legendary shotstopper of AC Milan, Nelson Dida, who was also the goalkeeper coach last season has released an interview to the microphones of La Gazzetta dello Sport in view of the derby. Here are his words:
"Maignan? We have focused on his integration into Italian football. He had to understand the dynamics and how football develops. At the beginning, he struggled a bit but then he learned so much in such a short time that it was surprising. We were all delighted with his dedication. We noticed improvements in every game."
He continued:
"His compliments? His words give me immense pleasure. It was great for me to have contributed to his training. Knowing that I left something means having worked in the right way. We are still in contact, he must continue the path of growth thanks to the professionals who are with him today."
On AC Milan's goal to get the second star on the shirt:
"They certainly do start among the favourites. They start with equal confidence and I say they have the strength to repeat the feat. This championship will be strange due to the interruption of the World Cup, but the group is solid and ready."
On the derby:
"It involves not only an entire city but the whole country. It is often said that all matches are the same but they are not: the derby is different. It is different. which represents for Milan and for us who wear or have worn the Rossoneri shirt."
Dida on the Champions League:
"One more year of experience will be very useful. Last year, we faced a particularly challenging group and this allowed even the youngest players to compete immediately in high-intensity and high-level matches."
On Charles De Ketelaere:
"He made an excellent impression on me, but like all new players, especially young people who arrive in Serie A, he needs time and serenity to express himself at his best. Charles has all the potential and technical characteristics to be a champion."
Dida on Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
"Whether he can still be decisive? He always has been and he always will be. It is in his DNA."
