Present today at Casa Milan for the 'Ac Milan for Peace' event, the former Rossoneri striker Andriy Shevchenko gave an interview to the microphones of Milan TV to thank Fondazione Milan for their support. Here are his words:
"Together with the Municipality of Milan we have created a beautiful project to help Ukrainian refugees, I thank Fondazione Milan for the support given to Ukraine in these times of war as well as I thank all the AC Milan fans who participated in the fundraising. The world of sport has responded not only with words but with deeds. A few weeks ago, I asked the mayor of Irpin how to help the city, he replied with the stadium because children should be given the opportunity to play and play sports. When I was a child, that was where I used to go to play. The project we are carrying out with Fondazione Milan reminds me of the Manchester final, one of the most beautiful and special moments for both me and the AC Milan fans. I sincerely thank everyone who bought this shirt."
Shevchenko on football:
"The level of Italian football has also risen in terms of intensity, you can see many good matches. There is a lot of competition for the Scudetto, many teams can win it. Pioli? I have a lot of admiration for him, he has built a winning team doing a great job. Seeing Milan win the Scudetto after many years was a great emotion, great to see so many Rossoneri fans celebrating."
