Regarding the new stadium project, AC Milan and Inter are evaluating different possibilities. According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, "It is not yet known what form it will take, but the fear, today that the project is progressing fast, is that the Cathedral, the stadium that Inter and Milan aim to inaugurate in 2027-2028, will be too small."
In Serie A alone, over 575,000 people have passed through the Meazza turnstiles at the start of the season. A remarkable number, with the Rossoneri having an average spectators of 72 thousand per game and the cousins from the other side of town with an average of 71 thousand per game.
One of the topics covered is precisely that of the reduced capacity of the Cathedral. While abroad the clubs that remake stadiums or build new ones try to increase capacity, Inter and Milan have chosen the opposite path from the beginning.
The entire San Siro project has a value of approximately 1.3 billion euros, 600 million the stadium sector. But, only if implemented as designed by the two clubs, therefore with two rings, thus removing 10-15 thousand seats compared to today's capacity at the San Siro facility.
