AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, has spoken to the media at the San Siro in a press conference after the massive performance and win against Monza; 4-1. Here are his words:
"I am Satisfied with the performance, but it was not an easy match; we did well on the defense, but we can do better. We scored 4 goals to an opponent who had only conceded 1 in the last 4 games. They seem light stuff for Dest and Brahim; I hope that's the way it is because important matches like the one on Tuesday in Zagreb await us."
On the player's performances:
"I am here to help my players. Brahim is doing this because he has quality and he is proud, and so does Charles (De Ketelaere) and he will do it too. We must respect the times of growth and insertion; clearly he was disappointed, but it was not easy to score on that occasion, it is normal to have his confidence a little lower, but he has everything we expected. He must continue as he is doing."
A good thing and a bad thing about tonight's performance?
"We started as an attentive team, with personality, without forcing, hitting Milan where we knew we could find them. In the second half we had to dribble better, controlling the game better."
On Malick Thiaw not being subbed on during the game, Pioli said:
"I made the choice that I thought was the best for the team."
Is Monza similar to Dinamo Zagreb, perhaps?
"They are different. Dinamo Zagreb covers more preventives, attacks with fewer players but when they do it they do it well. They never lost at home: it will be difficult."
Pioli on Divock Origi and Olivier Giroud's styles:
"I am delighted to have both. I am very happy for Divock, he has suffered a lot. I hope to have them both, they are very strong forwards. I have many strong players and there is the right spirit"
