Speaking at the press conference before the Europa League game against Midtjylland, Lazio’s coach Maurizio Sarri has spoken about the Biancocelesti’s project while referring to Stefano Pioli ‘s AC Milan. Here are his words:
“I don’t feel like giving much credit to the victory in Bergamo, because I think it’s still an occasional performance. We had a strong team with a full stadium, so it was easy to give it my all. We will make the leap in quality when we play the same way even against teams that are almost relegated and with the stadium practically empty.”
Sarri added:
“Challenges like these in the Europa League can push us forward… But, it all depends on the mentality. We must do like Milan and Napoli, who first became big in Italy, and now they are doing it in Europe too.”
