AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia after the victory against Spezia. Here are his words:
"If I ever scored a goal like Giroud? No ,but I got it from Totti. I was on the bench at Lazio (laughs). A great ball from Tonali and a great goal from Oli. We got complicated. It can happen to concede goals, we must not stop playing: the team continues to believe in it, a painful victory."
An answere to Napoli's win?
"We know we have to score a lot of points, we want to get to November 13th with the best possible classification. Carefree? No, it's part of our mentality to believe in what we do and stay in the game. As far as mentality and character are concerned, we are second to none."
Did you expect this from Giroud tonight?
"I made a video call with Olivier before he arrived, the sensations were very positive: I found these sensations by training him. He is a very strong guy, very happy with his performance. He committed an ingenuity."
Pioli on the results:
"It is the work of a group, not just of my managers who have been close to me in delicate moments. It is the work of my players who have an incredible desire to grow."
On the goal of Daniel Maldini:
"I was sure he would have scored. Certain things are heard. I knew he would play, because that's how football is. I think it was the perfect evening for Paolo Maldini: Daniel scored a good goal and Milan won."
On Charles De Ketelaere:
"I still foresee ups and downs, it's normal for such a young player who has changed environment, way of working. Charles has quality, talent, intelligence and availability. His growth will come. When? That is difficult to say: I am absolutely convinced of his qualities. He will soon get to play the moves which he knows how to do."
