AC Milan's striker, Olivier Giroud, has spoken to Milan TV before the kick-off against Fiorentina at the San Siro today. Here are his words:
"We worked well this morning, obviously a result we didn't want came against Cremonese, but now we have the opportunity to win this home game before the break."
Is playing at home in front of the fans a motivation for you?
"Yes, of course. All the games we can count on an incredible 'Curva Sud' and also the whole stadium, together they give us strength. I hope that at the end of the match we can all celebrate together."
On being called-up for the World Cup with the France national team:
"For me, it was a goal to play a third World Cup, we want to defend our trophy. I am very proud, thanks also to my matches with Milan and thanks to Milan I am here today. But I'm only focused on today's match."
Giroud also spoke to DAZN. Here are his words:
"Last year, I had Covid and back pain, I was not well for a few weeks in the first part of the season. This year, the coach is giving me great confidence, I have played many games and I try to repay the trust. I feel good. This is why my stats are better than last year."
