AC Milan's central defender, Fikayo Tomori, spoke to Milan TV after the crucial win against Fiorentina:
"It was the only way to end this 2022 in the best way possible. These first 15 games did not all go as we wanted but the answers are positive. We cannot say that it is a championship that makes us satisfied so far, we only have to look at ourselves. We had an incredible desire to take home the 3 points. We had an extra strength in the last supporters thanks to our fans to go and find that goal."
On the fans:
"Thanks to the fans. We cannot be without the fans and they cannot be without us. We feel this on the pitch, it is a stimulus that in the darkest moments of a match gives you strength and attention. Even today, they gave us that extra push in the last few minutes."
On the World Cup break, Tomori said:
"The break had to arrive because we played 21 games which are really a lot. It will be a difficult year, now is the time to switch off, to go to the national team for those who have the opportunity and rest for everyone else: it's time to unplug for a moment."
The Rossoneri defender also spoke with DAZN:
"It was important to win after Cremona's draw. It was a difficult match, we are happy to have won before the break. Now we have to rest and then we will think about the new year."
On the clearance on the goal line against Fiorentina:
"It was instinct. We deserved to win, we continued to play and we are happy with the three points."
Tomori on not being called up to the World Cup:
"There is obviously disappointment, the World Cup is a dream for everyone. I have to continue working to raise my level and return to the national team. I am disappointed, the only thing I can do is continue to play like today."
On the Scudetto race with Napoli leading at the top:
"We never give up. We are happy with today's three points. The championship is still long, Napoli are doing an excellent campaign. We have to think only of ourselves."
