AC Milan's director, Paolo Maldini, has spoken to Milan TV about different topics including Rossoneri players from the past and also current ones. Among the names he had a lot of compliments for is Theo Hernandez:
"If Theo plays the third of matches I played for Milan, he'll beat me. This is very clear; I've never been a forward. I would be happy to be overcome, because I would enjoy these goals.Theo is a very particular full-back: he is absolutely a full-back, but what he does is not done by anyone else, above all for his ability to finish, to assist and to come onto the pitch. He has slightly revised the modern idea of the full-back. Especially the first year he seemed to wait for the 70th minute to make these sprints that have something incredible, especially if you consider that the finalization or the assist come after 70 meters of running with the ball."
Maldini on Riccardo Kakà:
"Kaka was a champion in depth and dribbling: he solved many games for us and did it in a spectacular way. I must say that he did it very often in important games: when there was an important match, he was there , like so many other comrades."
On Andriy Shevchenko:
"Sheva didn't have a sharp dribble, but he moved his body very well; for a defender like me, quick but predictable players might have been easier to deal with, but those sinuous players, who moved more lanky, put you in more difficulty. Sheva was also beautiful to watch."
Maldini on George Weah:
"He never had overwhelming speed, but he had this softness in his dribbling that put you out of action: he had some dribbles... I don't know where he acquired them, they were his alone. Probably they came from the fact that he started on very bad pitches and so he knew how to take advantage of every strange rebound from the ball. Being present in a goal like George's is nice: regardless of the colours, everyone likes a goal like this (against Parma)."
