Against a resilient Tunisia national team, Denmark were held to a draw in their first World Cup draw. AC Milan's captain, Simon Kjaer, who played around 66 minutes spoke about different topics, including the disallowed One Love armband:
"Nothing has changed on the pitch for me, because it was a chapter that I closed yesterday. This does not mean that I understand the decision FIFA has made in relation to this. I think it's completely ridiculous that we're not allowed to wear that armband and they say you can get a yellow card for wearing it on the pitch. We will not compromise from a sporting point of view. I can understand people saying I would just get a yellow card, but then I would like to know what happens if I get another random yellow card after 5 minutes and it puts the whole team and Denmark in a bad situation. I can't do it in a World Cup."
On the performance against Tunisia, Kjaer said:
"We need the last pass in the last third of the pitch. We have something to work on before we meet France on Saturday. My substitution at game time? Apparently it had been agreed (laughs)."
