After the AC Milan win at the Arechi stadium against Salernitana, Stefano Pioli spoke to DAZN. Here are the gaffer's words:
"I'm certainly satisfied, we had many chances, so we had to score more goals in order not to suffer in the final, but starting again like this, suffering and fighting, can help us because difficult weeks await us. Today, I got the answers I was looking for and frankly expected, because the boys are always ready to fight."
On some changes in the way of playing, today Milan played more vertically...
"Yes, we have changed something, in possession we played with Tonali and Brahim between the lines. We didn't quite know how they would defend; if their defence will be high or low, but the team was good at reading the spaces, plus we have players like Leao, Saelemaekers and Tonali and Brahim themselves who can give many solutions."
Pioli continued:
"We were good at reading the game and scoring, then we suffered in the final phase of the match. But, we were good at bringing home the 3 points. Winning like this gives us satisfaction and helps us to better prepare for the next match against Roma, which is difficult but stimulating."
