AC Milan's striker Olivier Giroud has granted an interview to Canal Football Club. He talked about many topics such as the national team, his relationship with Real Madrid star Karim Benzema and AC Milan. Here are his statements:
"For now, I'm continuing with the national team. I was struck by the fact that Hugo (Lloris ed) has decided to leave, our relationship is special. Anything can happen, I haven't retired from the international stage and for this reason I remain eligible. I have to understand if I still want to wear the blue shirt , which means a lot to me, I want to take some time before deciding."
On Karim Benzema, Giroud said:
"He was the first choice, I had to be the alternative, simple as that. His absence was a hard blow, even if he didn't spoil the good mood of the group. I couldn't say goodbye, but I wrote to him that I was sorry for his injury. It was an honest and spontaneous message. Unfortunately, that is part of football, an injury can sometimes favour another player. I took advantage of it, but that doesn't mean I was happy to see him go."
On AC Milan:
"I want to renew with Milan, with the Scudetto victory I entered the hearts of the fans. I'm talking to the club, if there's the possibility of finishing my career at high levels at Milan, I'll do it. My goal is to continue to score goals and win trophies with Milan. As for France, I don't know yet. I'm still thinking."
