AC Milan's latest form is something that does not please the fans at all, and rightfully so. The Rossoneri went from a Scudetto winning team to a side which only won one game in the last 6 official games (9 if you count the friendlies).
Il Corriere dello Sport talk about this current form and tried to highlight where thei ssues are for Pioli's.
The first aspect which should be worked on and is questioned right now is the mental strength of the boys. Milan have completely lost their certainties, unfortunately for them. The players are not displaying their qualities and leadership which was seen last season. Players like Mike Maignan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are absent and Simon Kjaer has not been always available. The team is lacking leaders.
The second issue is the long list of injuries. Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez are understandably exhausted and they have no real and reliable alternatives.
Finally, another obstacle that hinders the growth of AC Milan is the tactical aspect. The Rossoneri's 4-2-3-1 formation, especially this year with attacking midfielders like Diaz and De Ketelaere, is very offensive and the two midfielders often find themselves working twice as hard and with greater frenzy. From this point of view too, Pioli will have to find solutions. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are plotting a move for experienced Premier League star defender who is familiar with the Serie A.
