AC Milan's star left-winger, Rafael Leao, has a contract which expires in June 2024 with the club. There is the will to continue together growing at the San Siro. However, there are many issues to take stock of first such as that of the release clause, the dispute between representatives (Ted Dimvula and agent Jorge Mendes) and the legal affair with Sporting Lisbon.
According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition, there are two possible scenarios being thought of at Casa Milan: if the plan goes in favour of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, then Leao will renew and they can finally focus on different matters. However, if they do not find the agreement for the renewal, then they will raise cash in the summer and sell him to the highest bidder in order to avoid losing him on a free like they did with Hakan Calhanoglu, Franck Kessié and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
If the latter scenario happens, then the next derby will be the last one for Rafael Leao with AC Milan, as pointed out by the newspaper. The 23-year-old forward has 9 goals and 9 assists so far with the club this season after 27 appearances.
