Inter's head coach, Simone Inzaghi, spoke to the media before the derby in a press conference. Here are his statements:
"The derby is a very heartfelt game for all of us. It will take the mind and the heart. We have played many derbies and they are always different. Those of the Cup have allowed us to win two important trophies. Those in the championship were disappointments so you have to face them with the right concentration, always trying to be balanced, because you risk arriving at the race with a lot of spent mental energy. The two teams that fought for the Scudetto last year and reached the Super Cup final are facing each other. Two teams that want to make their own match."
Simone Inzaghi added:
"The data is clear. Last year there were two points of difference and there are two this year. In any case, I don't expect a subdued Milan , on the contrary they will want to play a great derby and I respect them a lot. I don't remember the recent Super Cup derby , let alone the one from a year ago. The derby is particular, Milan are in a bad moment but they are champions of Italy and in the round of 16 of the Champions League. They have quality, I respect them a lot and we will have to put quality, determination and attention."
