Nicolò Zaniolo's departure from AS Roma to Galatasaray has been the subject of media attention. The 23-year-old has been a rising talent and was sold to the Turkish club, leaving the fans and the public with many questions. In an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport, his mother, Francesca Costa, shed some light on her son's transfer and disclosed that Zaniolo was even willing to take a pay cut to move to Milan or Tottenham. Here are her words:
"I want to clarify one aspect: Nicolò would have accepted a lower salary, or he would have asked for the same amount of money as Roma, to join Milan or Tottenham. But those clubs did not reach an agreement with the Giallorossi. At that point, there was Bournemouth: it is not true that they offered us five million per season."
