Brahim Diaz, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder who is on loan from Real Madrid at AC Milan, is inching closer to securing a longer stay with Los Blancos until 2027.
According to The Athletic, there are confirmations that both the club and the player have reached a preliminary agreement to extend their current deal by two more years. The attacking midfielder signed for the Spanish giants in 2019 from Manchester City.
Brahim Diaz's loan spell in Milan saw him make 105 appearances with 16 goals and 10 assists across three spells. The club's hierarchy is yet to make a final decision about his future next season, but they are keen to offer him a new deal with a pay bump that would place him among the middle earners. Although he enjoyed his time in Italy, Diaz’s primary objective is to fight for a starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he has previously been earmarked as a player with the potential to match Luka Modric's profile.
The decision to renew Marco Asensio's contract could also have a say in Diaz's future plans.
