It has been some time since the AC Milan fans and coaching staff of Stefano Pioli have witnessed Theo Hernandez in his full-throttle form. The red and black faithful felt the absence of the France international, but the former Real Madrid talent was able to bounce back, thanks in part to his explosiveness that has gradually reignited the left flank.

When Hernandez is in action, he exudes boundless energy and a zest for the game, almost as if it is a decree: “We went through a tough spell, but now we’re returning to the old Milan.”

His devastating left-footed strike against Atalanta, clocked at an eye-watering 104.42 kilometers per hour, led to Musso’s own goal (though Hernandez insists the goal is rightfully his, not as the League says), paving the way for Milan’s fourth consecutive triumph. It was a momentous victory, especially against Atalanta, the same opponents who were instrumental in the Rossoneri’s previous Scudetto win, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport on their website.

‘From Atalanta to Atalanta’, Hernandez has emerged as the star, reminding us of his monster 60-meter run that culminated in a crucial goal towards the business end of last season’s title race. He possesses blinding pace, exceptional dribbling skills, and a consistent presence in the opposition box – a lethal weapon for Stefano Pioli’s side surely, even at the start of this season.

Yet, the road to resurgence hasn’t been without its bumps. January was an ugly month for Milan and Theo Hernandez, struggling to cope with poor form after the Frenchman’s World Cup competition which ended in the final game as Argentina triumphed in penalties. However, February was a turning point. His assist against Torino to Giroud’s header ignited the team’s upturn in fortunes, followed by a commendable performance against Monza and a jaw-dropping 7.5 rating (via Gazzetta) display against Atalanta. Not to mention the crucial role he played in launching Brahim Diaz’s goal against Tottenham in the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League. These are moments that exude a sense of resurgence – a Theo who is reinvigorated and ready to lead the charge once more.
