As AC Milan direcotrs, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, search to bolster their midfield in view of the next season, the name on the watchlist is Galatasaray's star Lucas Torreira. The former Fiorentina and Arsenal player is highly appreciated. The Turkish club, as per some reports, suggest that they would not be willing to let him go easily as they would request a fee of at least 15 million euros.
AC Milan, however, are also keeping a keen eye on Manuel Ugarte, a young midfielder of the Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon and the Uruguayan national team.
Ugarte's physical and technical abilities make him a modern and strong midfielder, capable of playing in a two-man or three-man midfield. In fact, his playing style is similar to the one which Pioli would find useful in his system.
Ugarte has a valid contract with Sporting until 30 June 2026, the 25 million euros asking price is deemed too high by the AC Milan club directors and that is why they are exploring other options for a possible transfer at the same time. Perhaps, a paid loan with the option to buy is one possibility, but the AC Milan managers will need to weigh their options carefully before making a move, writes CalcioStyle.it.
