As reported this morning by the Italian newspaper Il Corriere della Sera, in the meetings held yesterday by the American owner of AC Milan, Gerry Cardinale, with the top political figures of the city and region, the Rossoneri confirmed their intention to build their own stadium, independently, in the area of La Maura racecourse, not far from San Siro.
As for the current stadium, as also recalled by mayor Giuseppe Sala in his statements yesterday, Milan has not yet officially given up on the shared project with Inter for the redevelopment of the Meazza, but Cardinale's presence was precisely meant to make the club's intentions clear. Therefore, we await the official step.
And what about Inter? The Nerazzurri were caught up in Milan's moves and may now be considering the idea of a new stadium in Rozzano.
