Luciano Spalletti, Napoli's head coach, received the Bearzot Award today in Naples. On the occasion of the award ceremony, he spoke about his team and the upcoming Champions League match against AC Milan. Here are his statements:
"When I arrived, I found some difficulties. The results were not accepted by the city. Then we became a single entity. My team is very strong. Our players risk feeling satisfied with the euphoria of the results. I talk about this, expressing the fear that their attention and motivation might decrease. Then, every time, they look at me at the end of the game to tell me 'did you see that it's not like that?'. They are truly made of a different material. This is still the time for work: it is a pact we made with the team."
Spalletti added:
"Champions League? This is something that must be fully experienced, and we can't wait to compete. It is important to understand that we should not bring the past into these matches; we must know how to start from scratch every time."
