Interviewed by MilanTv, Olivier Giroud commented on his renewal until 2024:
"It's a confirmation that I am part of the Milan family. I received a beautiful welcome, and since I spoke with the management, I have liked the project of the great Milan a lot, and I am proud of everything I have done, but I want to do even more."
On his experience at AC Milan so far:
"A scent of second youth. I am motivated, determined to help the team for the great Milan. When I was little, it was THE team, and I am here to do beautiful things and I want to continue like this."
On reaching the semifinal of the Champions League:
"A special emotion. This match was decisive for the Scudetto race last year, and I wanted to do my best for the team. I wanted to play this match to go to the semifinals. I was waiting for this goal after missing the penalty, and I wanted to do everything to score because I was a little disappointed, but I never gave up. Believing until the end, always: these are my values."
On the curse of the number nine:
"It's just a number, I like it. Maybe it's because I knew I could do beautiful things for the team. I hope to continue like this, and that this number nine can score a few more goals."
On becoming the top scorer, Giroud said:
"I don't think I'll become the top scorer of Milan at 36-37 years old, but it's more important to be in the most important moments of the season to help the team win."
On the fans, Giroud said:
"It's not a surprise, I knew it was a warm atmosphere at San Siro, but when we play away, I am very proud to be part of the Milan family also for them, they give fantastic support. They made a beautiful song for me, and I try to do everything to hear it in all the matches."
