A rumour is reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport and it underlines how there have not yet been any meetings between AC Milan and Bologna regarding the experienced striker Marko Arnautovic, but the Rossoneri have certainly had at least an exploratory contact.
The context also seems to favour a market operation: the Austrian striker is now at odds with head coach Thiago Motta at Bologna and is also going through a difficult period from a physical point of view. However, Arnautovic has demonstrated in the last season and a half that he is still very good in Serie A, even with greater maturity. Moreover, to pry him away from his club would not require a high economic outlay: less than 5 million euros, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Therefore, an interesting profile from this point of view: experienced and inexpensive.
The situation of the Rossoneri's offensive department for next year is still to be written, with only Olivier Giroud certain to play at least another year in red and black. Behind him, neither Ante Rebic nor Divock Origi have proven themselves up to the task this season, and their future appears very uncertain today, and it is unknown whether they will remain at Milanello or elsewhere. The same goes, but for profoundly different reasons, for Zlatan Ibrahimovic: the Swede returned in February after a knee surgery, but a muscle injury on international duty and a new injury in the warm-up against Lecce brought his retirement closer and closer. In this context, therefore, it will not be enough to just take an attacker who guarantees many goals to alternate with Giroud, but also a profile of experience like Arnautovic could be helpful.
