AC Milan's 21-year-old talented German centre-back, Malick Thiaw, has granted an interview to the microphones of Sky Sport Deutschland. Here are the statements of the former Schalke 04 player:
On his reference point in the Rossoneri dressing room:
"Ismaël Bennacer. I arrived in a dressing room full of champions. He took me under his wing because I was quiet and similar to him."
On his life in Milan:
"If I go out, I try to go to the Duomo area, the symbol of the city. But to be honest, I often have to be forced to leave the house."
On the video-call meeting with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, Thiaw said:
"I found out a little before from my agent. I was nervous, but Paolo was kind and reassured me. He had been following me from before, so I was happy."
On his arrival to AC Milan:
"I had some doubts, but at the same time, I trained and the staff talked to me a lot, so they believed in me. I tried to stay positive."
On the best moment of his career at Milan:
"The matches against Torino, Tottenham, and Monza: that's when people noticed me, and I received a lot of compliments. The performance against Harry Kane was of a very high level."
Thiaw continued:
"I learned at Milan that I have to test myself in every single training session. It's not enough to play well against Harry Kane, but then I have to do well against Victor Oshimen too."
On Zlatan Ibrahimovic and what it's like to play with him:
"Insane. Ibra is Ibra. He can be a kind person, but he's extremely confident in himself. The training changes as soon as he participates. If you treat him with kid gloves, he won't respect you. The tougher you are, the more he'll respect you."
