Il Corriere dello Sport today discussed the possible arrival of Luka Romero to AC Milan in this summer transfer window. In fact, there have been at least three meetings between the parties in these weeks to deepen their respective intentions and set up a negotiation that is now very close to conclusion.
The young playmaker whose contract with Lazio expires on June 30th, is a target of Geoffrey Moncada, the Rossoneri club's chief of scouts who has ben following him for some time. AC Milan have stepped up in their efforts to recruit him when an agreement for a renewal could not be reached.
As per the source, an agreement on the salary and contract duration between the Rossoneri and Luka Romero is already defined. However, the obstacle right now is the commission fees to the agents.
Dubbed the new Messi, Romero was unable to play consistently under the guidance of head coach Maurizio Sarri and therefore failed to showcase all of his qualities. This term, he played only 277 minutes in 12 appearances across the Serie A, Europa League, Conference League and Coppa Italia. However, he scored a crucial goal in the league during the Lazio-Monza 1-0 match. AC Milan could offer Luka Romero the same amount that Lazio initially promised the young talent: 800 thousand euros net per season. However, the option of a loan departure once the operation is concluded is not excluded.
