Christian Pulisic is now officially a new AC Milan player. The American attacking midfielder has participated in the two training sessions at Milanello under the watchful eyes of coach Stefano Pioli.

Here are some words from the player before relayed by Milannews.it:

"I am excited, and you can feel the history of Milan. I am honored. There is another reason for coming here, which is to play in the Champions League. Last year, Milan reached the semifinals, and I am here to help the team win titles. My experience with Chelsea will be useful, and I will try again."

On AC Milan's interest:

"Obviously, when the interest of a club like Milan arises, you have to think about it. I spoke with Pioli, and I had the feeling of being wanted. They wanted me strongly, and I felt good. It's one of the reasons why I'm here."

Why the number 11 jersey? Is there a player from the past you would like to emulate?

"The number 11, with Ibrahimovic, has taken on a legendary meaning. I don't want to fill that void or replace him. It's a number I liked. As for the legends of the club, there are so many names that can be mentioned. Like Kaka and Ibrahimovic, I remember them. And there are important names in the current squad as well."

Are you thinking about what Milan could be with you and Leao up front? Pulisic said:

"Leao is incredible. He does amazing things and always knows what to do in front of the goal. I can't wait to figure out what my best position will be. I want to help the team in the attacking zone. And I can't wait to do it together with him."

Giroud, Tomori, Loftus-Cheek, and you are all former Chelsea players. What does it mean to you? Can you play as a center forward?

"The last seasons at Chelsea were difficult for several reasons. It's nice to meet Ruben, Fikayo, and Olivier again. I want to start again and play in a great team like this. I spoke with Fik, who has grown a lot here, and Giroud, and now I am happy to be here at Milan. Surely, with Giroud, we will have a great relationship on the field. As for my position on the field, there are important players in the center forward role."

In the past, you were recognized as a talent in world football. How much do you want to return to your levels? Pulisic answered:

"The main reason that pushed me to come here is to start again and reach the highest level. In the last seasons at Chelsea, I couldn't express myself at my best, but now I have turned the page and want to return to my levels."

How is Milan seen in the USA?

"Just like in the rest of the world. I have always seen many Milan fans in the USA and around the world. It is considered a great club. Since I was a child, I have seen many Milan jerseys in the stadiums. Milan enjoys a lot of support."

How do you think your impact will be in Italy?

"I am very happy to play again with some former Chelsea teammates, like Olivier Giroud. We have already talked. Today was my first day, and I need to understand the tactics well and also the Serie A."

Which position do you feel most comfortable in?

"I think both the right winger and the attacking midfielder positions are where I feel comfortable. I am also used to playing on the left. I think my role will be determined by time and how I integrate with my teammates."

On the weekend before your birthday, there will be the derby. Have you already thought about what gift you would like to give yourself on that date?

"My birthday falls on the day of the derby. Well... The best gift would be to win it and score a goal. It would be a beautiful birthday..."

When were the first contacts with Milan, and when did you say yes?

"The first contacts happened when I was with the national team. When you feel that Milan is looking for you, you would like to say yes immediately. I spoke with the manager and some former teammates to be here. After a few days, I was sure. I am very happy to be here and to have made this choice."

This summer you had several offers. Why did you choose Milan over other proposals?

"One word is always difficult. I can say that this club is historical and legendary, but the real reason is that I felt wanted, desired, and immediately in tune with this club, and I seized the opportunity to reach my top level."

Is dribbling your best characteristic? Have you had contact with the American ownership?

"Dribbling is one of my strengths, and I hope to use it to make assists and score goals. I have spoken with some members of the ownership. It's nice to have connections with your home country."

Is Milan a possible mission?

"For me, nothing is impossible."

Is your dream the Scudetto or the Champions League?

"I would like to win both. Serie A is a new league for me. We will aim for the Scudetto because it would be a new title for me. The Champions League? We will do our best to improve on last season. We want to push even harder to achieve it."

Do you have a childhood idol you look up to? Have you heard about Musah and Balogun being linked to Milan?

"I have several football idols. I haven't had the chance to talk to Musah and Balogun, but my admiration for them doesn't change."
