AC Milan is preparing to welcome a new player: Tijjani Reijnders. To sign him, the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with AZ Alkmaar after several weeks of negotiations. The decisive move was made by the Italian club in the past few days, closing the deal at a base price of 20 million euros plus bonuses.
Reijnders will arrive in Milan tonight, and medical examinations have already been scheduled for him tomorrow, although the exchange of documents between the parties still needs to be completed. The 24-year-old player will strengthen Stefano Pioli's new midfield along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Now, the Milan market will focus mainly on the right wing and the center forward, writes Calcioefinanza.it.
Regarding Reijnders, how will the player's arrival impact AC Milan's finances in the 2023/24 season? According to rumors in the Italian sports press, Milan completed the operation for 20 million euros plus bonuses (up to an additional 4 million). Assuming that it follows the same pattern as other signings, Reijnders is expected to sign a four-year agreement.
If that's the case, the amortization cost for the 2023/24 season would be 5 million euros. In addition to that, there would be a salary of 1.7 million euros net per season. Since the player arrived after July 2nd, Milan will be able to take advantage of the tax benefits provided by the "Decreto Crescita" (Growth Decree), but only starting from next year, 2024.
This means that, based on estimates from Calcio e Finanza, Reijnders' gross salary at Milan should amount to 2.69 million euros. Adding this figure to the amortization cost, the total expense for the 2023/24 season would be 7.69 million euros.
