At the Federal Council held on Monday, July 24th, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has decided to approach the Italian National Olympic Committee to request the equal treatment as European Union citizens for footballers coming from the United Kingdom.
This idea is based on the agreements of commercial cooperation between the European Union and Great Britain. The federation's hope was to amend the current regulation in the ongoing transfer window, and it will happen as planned.
This would represent a return to the past, following the previous bureaucratic change that occurred after January 31st, 2020, the date of Brexit.
