AC Milan's summer signing, Tijjani Reijnders, has granted an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport as he spoke about how he's experiencing the first few days as a Milan player. Here are his words:
"I am impressed, from day one. I immediately realized that I am in a big club, different from the size of AZ Alkmaar that I was used to. What stands out? The fans. Seeing how they support us is beautiful. As a child, I always watched Milan on TV, alone or with my dad. I always knew that Milan was a great club."
Reijnders added:
"I like to play as a number 8, as a central midfielder. The thing I do best is being a box-to-box player, effective both defensively and in the attacking half. I like to help build the game, be a creative player. Mezzala on the right or left? On the left, that's where I feel more comfortable."
Reijnders revealed that he declined an offer from Barcelona:
"If I received a call from Xavi? Yes, but I had already made my choice. I had spoken with Moncada and Pioli... and at that point, I had already decided, even with my family. I had already decided that I would play for Milan. The pressure on replacing Tonali? Zero (pressure). Honestly, I don't feel pressure, I want to be myself on and off the field."
