Last night, it was reported that Yunus Musah has stood firm against Valencia as he made it clear that he would only want to move to AC Milan. However, it seems that Valencia are not budging despite the stance of the American midfielder.
According to what is reported by Relevo, the pricetag initially asked by Valencia is 25 million euros. But, as the days pass, they became relatively more open to the possibility of considering an offer of 20 million fixed. AC Milan, for their part though, have stopped at the 18 million euros mark for now, including bonuses.
Despite Yunus Musah's refusal to play and despite Valencia's need to sell and gain some much needed cash, they still have no intention of lowering their demands further. As of today, there are no other offers for the American midfielder who is a holder of an Italian passport.
Valencia, after seeing AC Milan dishing out fees in the regions of 20 million euros (+8 million in bonuses) for Chukwueze and around 25 million euros in total for Pulisic, they feel confident that the Italians will eventually increase their offer as well.
Yunus Musah's refusal to play is more related to the negotiations between Valencia and Milan and the people involved than Yunus himself. The player does indeed have some discomfort in his knee (although he could have trained alone at the St. Gallen sports city). However, the club is surprised by the published reports because the understanding for Musah's departure has always been good.
As an example, it was the player himself who requested not to play in the first preseason friendly because he had the promise from Milan that they would make a second offer that would reach 20 million euros. Valencia accepted this because both parties had agreed on the sale, and they understood that the player did not want to take any risks. However, that offer did not arrive on the day of the first friendly, nor was it for 20 million euros, which led to Musah traveling to Switzerland... and not playing or training. As long as Musah remains part of the squad, the club will maintain normalcy in the situation, concludes the report from Relevo.
