AC Milan's star striker Olivier Giroud, has spoken to our correspondent Riccardo Cominelli after the friendly match against FC Barcelona at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Here are the statements of the Frenchman:
How do you feel the fans in the USA compare to the ones back in the Premier League?
"I know soccer is getting bigger and bigger in the US. It's a good thing for us and for football. But, well, I played only three games here. It's true that we faced big teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and they had many fans in the stadium, more than us. So I hope that when we can come back here, more Milan fans will come. But, it is a good atmosphere and I think people enjoyed it. But, the Premier League remain the best."
In the summer, more offensive players have joined the team. How happy does that make you, having that support behind you? Giroud replied:
"Well, I think we just need to give them a bit of time, they have a great mentality, they are very skilled players: a lot of pace, so I think we can be stronger than last year, so it's a good thing for the team. We just need to give them time to improve, improve their Italian also to get a better understanding on the pitch. But, I know most of them and I know they will do well. I'm pretty sure they will do well."
