In AC Milan's victory against Hellas Verona, Marco Sportiello had his first debut and was chosen as the best on the pitch by La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper (check ratings here).
The Italian newspaper explained that with Sportiello, there is no point of rushing Mike Maignan. The Frenchman who was absent last week due to an injury, is doing well in recovery. This is the headline published this morning:
"Maignan is doing well, but there's no rush. His backup (Sportiello) is already excellent."
Between today and tomorrow, Pioli and the Milan medical staff will decide whether to bring the Frenchman back on Wednesday against Cagliari, but only if there are no risks of setbacks.
