On the sidelines of an event near the San Siro Racecourse, Olivier Giroud spoke to the media present. Here are his statements:
On Wednesday, we play in Dortmund:
"The Champions League is a special emotion, we want to do well in this second game, especially because we needed to win against Newcastle. It won't be a decisive match, but it's very important."
On the few weeks after the derby loss:
"Complicated, no. We've changed some players, strengthened the team. We've learned and we want to compete in both the Champions League and Serie A. We have a bit more quality and quantity compared to last year."
Do you miss scoring? Giroud answered:
"Personally, I want to do everything for the team. When I provide assists, I'm happy, but I've been missing a goal for a few weeks and I'm doing everything to get it soon (smiles)."
Are you thinking about extending your contract for another year?
"I'm focused on this year, giving my best for Milan, and then we'll see. Since the first day, I've been very happy here."
On Yacine Adli:
"I'm very happy for him, he's worked hard from day one. It wasn't easy for him because he didn't have a real opportunity to show his qualities. He has many, I'm happy for him because now he can play his football and help the team. He will raise the level even more, I really like his quality and above all his mentality: he reminds me of the young boy I was when I started."
In the Champions League, how important is experience? Giroud said:
"Experience is very important in these matches, but we also need to have chemistry with the youth we have in this team. We are confident but always with humility."
