There will be only 750 parking spaces inside Parco Sud connected to the new AC Milan stadium in San Donato, for which preliminary plans were presented in recent days. The Rossoneri club has unveiled its proposal for an Urban Planning Variant for the area known as "San Francesco." The number of parking spaces was clarified in a statement from the Rossoneri club released yesterday.
"With regard to some news reports about the size of the proposed parking lots in the project hypothesis for the new San Donato stadium, approximately 15,000 parking spaces inside Parco Sud, AC Milan clarifies that the information is absolutely incorrect," the Rossoneri club stated regarding the inaccuracy in some numbers.
"The actual number of parking spaces serving the park and the Chiaravalle Abbey (and only used by the stadium during the few hours when there will be events) can only be about 750 parking spaces," the club added in relation to the stadium project.
"The figure of 15,000 is entirely unreal and misleading: for a parking lot of 15,000 spaces, an area as large as the entire intervention area of the project (including the entire San Francesco area where the stadium, museum, offices, and entertainment center will be located) would be needed. 15,000 parking spaces would occupy approximately 450,000 square meters, compared to the total of 460,000," Milan concluded, as relayed by Calcio e Finanza.
