After Milan's victory against Genoa at Marassi Stadium last night, Genoa president Alberto Zangrillo has blasted Mike Maignan with "murder" accusations after the Frenchman's red card due to a challenge against a Genoa player. Here's what he said:
"As a doctor, I define it as a murder, but it doesn't matter. That's fine. The world of football is becoming increasingly unfair: the same people always get their way. Let's see how many days they give Maignan. When David is up against Goliath, Goliath always wins in this world... Enough of the hypocrisy, we all know it. What we saw tonight is clear."
Maignan's response was swift, writing on his Instagram stories the following words:
"Zangrillo! Words have meaning. What happened yesterday was a reckless act, perhaps a deplorable reckless act, but in no way was it an 'assassination.' I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you never have to experience what you accused me of."
