There is an important recognition for Gerry Cardinale, AC Milan club owner with his RedBird company.
The American of Italian descent - with ancestors from Abruzzo, Sicily, and Campania, will receive the "Leonardo Da Vinci for Finance" award on October 14th at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC, at the 48th anniversary gala of Niaf, the National Italian American Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the USA founded in 1975 that promotes Italian culture and heritage, as relayed by Tuttosport in this morning's print edition.
Gerry Cardinale will be honoured by Jimmy Pitaro, president of ESPN and Sports Content at The Walt Disney Company: "We are excited to award Gerry Cardinale the 'Leonardo da Vinci for Finance' award," said Robert Allegrini, president of Niaf. "His investment acumen, business leadership, and philanthropy exemplify the values we celebrate in the Italian-American community." Among the other awardees is also Stefano Domenicali, president of Formula 1.
