La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition discussed the AC Milan plans in the future transfer market sessions. The plan for the club is to reinforce the attack.
There is definitely the will to renew Olivier Giroud's contract, but a new addition is needed and the suitable profile may be Jonathan David from Lille.
According to the newspaper, the Canadian striker who was born in Brooklyn, USA, has long been on the radar of the AC Milan club management.
In the previous summer transfer window, they attempted to sign him in the final days of the August month, and will continue to monitor him closely in January as well.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it's unlikely that Lille will part ways with their striker mid-season. Therefore, AC Milan will make a second attempt, more determined than the first attempt, with a focus on the summer of 2024 rather than the upcoming winter transfer window.
A significant detail to note is that Jonathan David's contract with Lille, who has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 17 matches this season, will expire on June 30, 2025. This detail inevitably reduces his market value. The French club had initially hoped to receive 60 million euros. However, they could now lower their demands to around 40 million euros.
