The Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Piero della Francesca exhibition, once again spoke about the new stadiums for both Milan and Inter. Here are his words as reported by calciomercato.com.
"Clubs can legitimately choose to build their stadium wherever they want. Personally, I believe it would be a glaring mistake for these clubs not to build their stadiums in Milan. I think a stadium outside Milan would be unmanageable because I don't know how many police officers Rozzano has, how could they deploy a hundred officers during a match? It's illusory here; in my opinion, they're also telling a lot of tales."
Sala added:
"One tale I hear is that the clubs guarantee security, but where? They can't do it. I believe it's a glaring mistake on the part of the clubs. However, from their point of view, they may complain about the restrictions and our slow pace in providing quick responses. I don't want to consider this match finished."
He concluded:
"In San Donato, parking is necessary as the subway is a mile and a half away. I don't think a parking lot can be built in the South Park or at Maura. I just invite the teams to reconsider."
