AC Milan are reportedly keen on signing some reinforcements in the defence, especially after the injury of Pierre Kalulu and given the recent physical conditions of Simon Kjaer. However, the striker's position is also being studied by the club.
Up front, there is only Olivier Giroud. The 37-year-old Frenchman has been the only reliable option for Stefano Pioli as he scored 8 goals (and provided 3 assists) in 15 matches so far this season. Meanwhile, Luka Jovic has failed to convince and Noah Okafor is more of a winger.
La Gazzetta dello Sport explained in this morning's print edition that the AC Milan club managers are keeping an eye on a potential reinforcement in that position, namely Santiago Gimenez.
The player in question is 22 years of age. He plies his trade for Feyenoord currently and has 15 goals plus 3 assists in 15 matches played this season.
Will AC Milan be able to sign him in January's transfer window?
The Rossoneri club management do certainly appreciate the left-footed Mexican player whose contract with Feyenoord runs until the summer of 2027. However, it should be noted that other European clubs are also monitoring him. Feyenoord, for their part, do not seem interested in letting him go in January, in the middle of their season.
According to Transfermarkt estimation, Santiago Gimenez' value is set at 40 million euros.
