Tijjani Reijnders, Milan's midfielder, qualified for Euro 2024 with his Netherlands national team on Saturday, thanks to a win over Ireland.
After the match, the Rossoneri midfielder spoke to the media about the game and his experience with the national team.
Here are his comments, as reported by Voetbal:
“I started out as a holding midfielder and had to serve the guys in front of me so they could get free between the lines. It worked well a few times thanks to me and Jerdy Schouten. We often managed to free up a teammate.
Reijnders continued:
"The last Euros? We had to watch it from a distance because of the coronavirus, so my wife gave me a little rest. You already saw at the World Cup what it can bring in terms of energy, and the same goes for the Euros. The new guys adapt quickly to the group, which is a great compliment. Everyone feels at home immediately, which creates trust on the field.”
