Today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport addressed the current situation regarding Simon Kjaer and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Yesterday, Simon Kjaer and Loftus-Cheek trained separately but on the field at Milanello. However, they did so with decidedly different outlooks. There's optimism growing around the former Chelsea player, with good feelings and confidence rising to see him on the field Saturday night at 'San Siro' against Fiorentina: whether he'll start or join the game later is another question.
As for the 34-year-old center-back, his return seems to be postponed once again. A full recovery from the muscle fatigue that sidelined him before the Napoli-Milan game on October 29th will still require a few more matches of waiting.

Kjaer might not only miss the Milan-Fiorentina match but also the Milan-Borussia Dortmund game next Tuesday in the Champions League.
Hence, the defensive emergency persists for coach Pioli. Behind the central duo of Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori, there's no one else. On Saturday night, in the league match, Jan-Carlo Simić might be on the bench.
Simic, however, won't be able to do so against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League since he's not included in the UEFA list, as relayed via Pianeta Milan.
