The confrontation that took place at Milanello between Gerry Cardinale, the head of RedBird, CEO Giorgio Furlani, and coach Stefano Pioli lasted about an hour and forty-five minutes.
The meeting had been planned days in advance, but in light of the recent results, including last night's defeat in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, it took on a completely different tone from what was initially anticipated.
The support for the coach was reiterated,however, as learned by the Italy-based website Milan News. This extremely complicated moment, though, characterized by fluctuating results and especially the injury crisis, was thoroughly analysed.
The club wants to remain a unit through this difficult period in order to get out of the dark tunnel. Therefore, support to the coach and his team is still there.
Stefano's Pioli's position, thus, remains secure for now and he is not in doubt. The club management are not questioning the coach because there are no real convincing alternatives in the market in the middle of the season.
If a dismissal were to happen, it would create another scenario that's difficult to resolve: currently, according to those making decisions in the club, there are no important coaches who would accept a role of a caretaker.
AC Milan's coach, Stefano Pioli, who remains tied to the results in the immediate future, is not currently being questioned by the executives; one reason is the lack of real alternatives.
This situation is common for many, as demonstrated by what happened between Tudor and Napoli after Garcia's dismissal: the Croatian coach didn't accept a contract until June but demanded at least an 18-month deal to reach an agreement.
