Despite being a behind-the-scenes figure, Matteo Osti is frequently mentioned on social media. He has been working as an athletic trainer alongside Stefano Pioli since 2011. However, fans see him as an antagonist due to the incidents occurring in the team's infirmary.

Despite this, he was recognised as the best technical trainer of the 2021-22 season and was granted the 'Cronometro d’Oro' award ('Golden Chronometre') earning high regard among his medical peers. This creates a paradox within the Rossoneri staff, as pointed out by Milan Press.

According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club firmly believes in Osti's lack of involvement in the continuous injuries plaguing the team. Milan appears to be diligently working to improve these high injury statistics, a fact acknowledged by Pioli himself.

Recently, Osti participated in the "Il nuovo calcio" conference, where he revealed his working method:

"The foundations of our work? Awareness and responsibility. Footballers must actively participate in their athletic training; they are an integral part of it. This is why we strive to involve even those who play less as much as possible. It's not uncommon to see players working out even an hour after the session ends. They stay back to recover and learn to manage themselves."
