AC Milan have won last night against Frosinone with a 3-1 result at the San Siro. The performance was positive. However, no one forgets the fact that there is a need to reinforce the team further.
For example, in the centre-back role, the only remaining player there from the first team available to Stefano Pioli is Fikayo Tomori. In fact, Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, and Marco Pellegrino won't be available for a long time, while Simon Kjaer is expected to return against Atalanta, but doubts remain about his physical condition.
Because of this, the club management needs to act in the upcoming January transfer window, in about a month, to reinforce a department that has been weakened due to physical problems.
Recalling Matteo Gabbia from his loan is not out of the realm of possibility. Developed in the Milan youth system, Gabbia was loaned out to Villarreal this summer to ensure the '99-born player could gain more playing time and consistency, as reported by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport in this morning's print edition.
